Mauritius
Imperia Golf Estate

Situated on the west coast of Mauritius, the region accommodates some of the well renowned resorts, offering breath-taking views of the western coast. The already established expatriate community further adds to the attractiveness of the region, with facilities accessible all across the western coast.

Semaris signed a MOU with Safran Landcorp in October 2018 for the joint development of Imperia Golf Estate at Les Salines Black River.

The project, which will be developed under the PDS scheme, comprises 220 luxury villas and an 18-hole golf course of international standard.

The development of the 220-villas and golf estate requires amongst others, a PDS certificate from the EDB and an EIA.

Applications for both have been submitted to the concerned authorities during the week ended 21 June 2019.

All permits and clearances from authorities are expected to be received by the end of 2019 and an important sales campaign will start beginning 2020.

The project will be developed in three phases over a period of 12 years. The construction of the first phase of approximately 80 villas is expected to start beginning 2021.

Sustainability

International sustainable golf development group, GEO Foundation, are appointed to ensure the implementation of internationally recognised sustainable best practices as set out in the ‘Sustainable Golf Development Guidelines: Second Edition ’ and the ‘Sustainable Golf Development Voluntary Sustainability Standard’

The design and construction of the villas will be in accordance with French HQE standard (Haute Qualite Environnementale)

The planning has been driven by:
  • 1. The need to ensure a high quality wetland within the golf course
  • 2. Green building principles for the villas
  • 3. World leading sustainable best practices for golf development
  • 4. A development that works with the natural environment, rather than against it
